MEET OUR FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
Andrew Kimbel, our founder, is deeply committed to client service. With extensive expertise in yacht brokerage, Andy also co-founded and served as a general partner at a full-service advertising, marketing, and public relations firm, representing several leading national brands as well as smaller businesses. He leverages this experience and expertise to develop and implement effective strategies for presenting and selling brokerage yachts.
A true entrepreneur and multi-talented individual, Andy sold his first boat, a new Cape Dory 33, in 1979 while also engaged in a career as a certified flight instructor and professional pilot logging several thousand hours in various types of aircraft. During a pilot furlough, it was a difficult decision at recall but his passion for owning an effective business, yacht sales, sailing and life on the water and also a passion for music, eventually took precedence over flying.
Expertise:
Andy brings over 35 years of experience in boat ownership, yacht brokerage, and new boat sales. He grew up sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, the mid-Atlantic coastal waters, and the Virgin Islands. Earlier in his career, Andy launched an online personalized service suppling hundreds of boaters across North America with an array of marine electronics and boating hardware.
In 2003, Andy launched and managed MidLantic Yachts, a new boat dealership and brokerage firm with offices in six states and serving boat owners and yacht enthusiasts across North America and parts of Europe.
In addition to yacht sales, Andy created and hosts the talk radio show “Boat Talk Live!” where he, along with various experts, discusses a wide variety of aspects related to boat ownership and life on the water.
Andy has vast experience in both brokerage and new boat sales, specializing in vessels primarily ranging from 40’ to 150’. He does not just sell boats; he shares a contagious passion for life on the water and is committed to cultivating long-lasting relationships. Andy matches the most appropriate vessel to each new owner, providing personalized assistance and service every step of the way.
Oh, and When he is not enjoying life on the water, you are likely to find Andy indulging his other passion—performing folk and blues music at venues and festivals across the country.
